Appreciate fees
Appreciate is free to create. Appreciate keeps 5% of each successful paid appreciation.
What does it cost to create a page?
Creating an Appreciate page is free. You can add your photo, bio, and links before setting up paid appreciation.
How do creators set their appreciation amount?
Eligible creators choose 5 to 500 USD per appreciation. That amount sets the minimum support payment and gives supporters a simple way to choose a quantity.
Can supporters enter a custom amount?
Supporters can choose a quantity or enter a custom amount, from one configured appreciation up to $10,000 per payment. The count is the number of whole appreciations the amount covers at the creator's price when paid. For example, $50 at $15 per appreciation counts as 3 appreciations; the supporter pays exactly $50.
The creator's amount is saved with the original payment. A later price change does not change that appreciation's count.
What amount is the 5% fee based on?
Appreciate's application fee is 5% of the actual amount paid, rounded to the nearest cent. A $50 payment has a $2.50 Appreciate fee, even when it represents 3 appreciations at $15 each. The fee is not calculated from the rounded appreciation count.
Does the fee apply to monthly support?
Yes. The same 5% Appreciate fee applies to one-time support and each monthly support payment. Monthly support does not require memberships, rewards, or extra content.
Does Stripe charge separately?
Stripe handles payments and payouts through the creator's supported connected account. Stripe processing fees are separate from Appreciate's 5% fee, so the creator should not assume they receive exactly 95% of the payment. Check your Stripe account for the fees that apply to you.
